Settlement reached in electrocution case of Melquan Robinson and others!

A settlement has been reached in reference to the electrocution of Melquan Robinson and the injuries of several last October! The City of Augusta and the Augusta Commissioners approve $2,075,000 of settlements in reference to the electrocution death of then 12 year old Robinson and the injuries of several other people at Fleming Park in Augusta Ga.

Melquan Kwame Robinson, of Augusta, was retrieving a football when he was electrocuted. A live wire touching the fence caused several feet of fencing on either side of a light pole to have a live current of electricity running through it when he touched it.

A $1.5 million settlement will be awarded to the family of Melquan Robinson. The settlement will also honor Melquan by renaming Daniel Avenue after him with a memorial being placed there in his honor.

The other settlements made in this case are:

Damien Patrick --$112,625

David Sette Jr.-- $150,000

Traquon Berry - $136,000

Francisco Berry - $63,750

Melquan Robinson would have been 13 years old.
