Malcolm D. Lee Announced as Director of Space Jams 2

Denver Nuggets v Los Angeles Lakers

It looks like there has been a switch up on the set of “Space Jam 2,” as the film has gained a whole new director. On Tuesday, it was announced that Malcolm D. Lee will take over the directing on the film from Terence Nance.

According toDeadline, Terence’s exit from the film was “amicable,” as his vision for the project was different studio and producers.

For those who may not know, Malcolm D. Lee is responsible for some prominent films such as “The Best Man,” “Roll Bounce,” “Barbershop: The Next Cut Up,” “Girls Trip,” and most recently “Night School.”

As we previously reported, Ryan Coogler is on board of the film as a producer, alongside the film’s star LeBron James, through his SpringHill Entertainment Company.

Last year, LeBron expressed his excitement about the film and said, “The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie. It’s so much bigger. I’d just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don’t just give up on their dreams. And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people.”
