According toDeadline, the legendary John Amos was announced as the latest actor to reprise his role. He will be onboard to reprise his role as Cleo McDowell, the owner of McDowell’s.
According to the synopsis, “Coming to America 2,” will follow “former Prince Akeem who is set to become King of Zamunda when he discovers he has a son he never knew about in America – a street-savvy Queens native named Lavelle. Honoring his father’s dying wish to groom this son as the crowned prince, Akeem and Semmi set off to America.”
James Earl Jones and Arsenio Hall has also signed on to reprise his role as King Jaffe Joffer and Semmi, and Wesly Snipes will be joining the cast as General Izzi, ruler of a nearby African nation to Zamunda.
